Smart, Strategic HR Management: We all need help sometimes.

Is it difficult for you to accept help? Maybe it’s just me, but I think small business owners and entrepreneurs tend to have a more difficult time asking for and receiving help. We tend to want to handle it all! Control all the things! Do it better than anyone else!

But. You knew there was a but coming, right?

But we all need help sometimes. Since HR is my specialty, I know what a dramatic, time-consuming endeavor HR can be for small(er) businesses.

No matter the size of your business, your company’s success depends largely on a strong workforce. Finding and keeping that workforce can consume a great deal of your time. Time that, frankly, that takes you away from pursuing your passion and steering the company’s ship.

Strategic human resources can make a world of difference. Here’s an example.

For several years, HR Resolutions worked with a client on an as-needed basis. This fast-growing company with multiple locations in several states was doing its best to manage HR internally, with several non-HR staff members covering various HR responsibilities. As the company continued to grow, HR Resolutions showed the company their absolute need for dedicated HR staff. We assisted them in hiring a manager, who unfortunately quickly became overwhelmed by the sheer volume of work required and resigned.

Back to square one. We met with senior management and reiterated the need for strategic-level human resource management, as well as additional staff to work with pressing human resource issues. This company has more than 200 employees in seven states and is growing. Companies of this size and scope need at least one HR staff person per 100 employees.

This client has its eye on become a Best Places to Work, but knows it needs to have strong HR support for its burgeoning team. As the company works toward its goal, I contracted with them to serve as Chief Human Resources Officer for 12-18 months while they worked to align their people strategy with their business strategy.

Human resource management is a tricky business and can quickly become overwhelming. HR Resolutions strives to customize strategic solutions based on the specific needs of each client. Not sure what your next HR step should be?

Perhaps the next step is StartHR™, a proprietary program designed to begin strengthening your HR practices, improving your workplace culture, and enhancing your bottom line. StartHR is three easy steps for a reasonable investment that can reap you amazing workplace rewards.  Let’s get started.
