Physician Panels and YOUR bottom line!

Companies are always looking for ways to save some money and be cautious of their bottom line, right?

As a Pennsylvania employer (and in many other states, too) you can do just that by saving money on your workers’ compensation visits!  All you need is to designate a Physician Panel.Doctor portrait at hospital

A physician panel is a group of doctors that Pennsylvania allows you, the employer, to designate as providers for care. As long as the panel is posted and distributed to your employees, they MUST be seen by a panel doctor for the first 90 days of their treatment.  By choosing the doctors on the panel for the employee, you will have a much better grasp on the medical costs that could be incurred to your company instead of your employee choosing the most expensive doctor they can find since “it’s not their money.” Another key point? If you develop a relationship with your providers, they will become familiar with your business operations and have a better understanding of your focus on safety – let them hear from both sides instead of just the injured worker!

Certain notices are required and should be signed by all employees at the time of their distribution AND signed again after an accident. Being mindful of workers’ compensation costs will not only benefit your company, it will be a benefit to the health and well-being of your employees as well.  If you need help with any of these notices or rounding up the appropriate physician panel, let us know.  We are happy to help with as much or as little as you need!
