Safety In the Workplace – OSHA 300 Logs

Creating a safe and healthy working environment for your employees should be your number one priority as an employer. Doing it right and following the guidelines the first time will save you time, money and possible headaches in the long run.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, better known as OSHA, requires  most employers with 10 or more employees (with a few industry exceptions) to have OSHA 300 logs completed throughout the year.  A summary (OSHA Form 300A) must be displayed from 2/1- 4/30 each year, but be sure you do NOT include the detailed logs.  This would be a HIPAA violation if you do, and we definitely do not want that.

Even if you had zero accidents or incidents (Good Job!), you do still need to post the summary.

If you’ve tried to look up the forms yourself and the 12 pages of instructions, questions, arrows, do’s and don’ts are getting you confused; you’re not alone.  Governmental forms can be tricky and you don’t want to be found in violation of OSHA policies just because you didn’t understand.

That is why HR Resolutions is here.  We can walk you through the forms, double check that everything is filled out correctly and remind you to get those summaries displayed.  For any questions regarding OSHA 300 logs or any other HR question, give us a call today.  We’re here to help, anytime you need us!
