What is your favorite part about coming to work every day?
It’s the people. I’m fortunate to work with a great staff and team of volunteers who are passionate about local issues and want to make a difference.

What are the benefits of companies participating in the Day of Caring?
One of the greatest benefits of Day of Caring is helping out a local non-profit. As you might expect, it’s very challenging for many non-profit organizations to make ends meet. Day of Caring helps them complete projects that they might otherwise not be able to afford.

Day of Caring also provides an opportunity for teamwork with your coworkers. We don’t always get a chance to get to know the people we work with day-in-and-day-out, but there’s plenty of time for conversation while painting all day.

What creative incentives have companies given to encourage their employees to participate?
Many companies have given away tickets to football games, lunch with the CEO and other fun raffle items. I remember one CEO who offered to shave his head if his company reached 90 percent participation. I don’t know if it came to this, but the topic provided a lot of fun for his team.
