We often think that safety isn't an issue in an office, but here are two items you should consider:
Winter Hazards: Over 68% of all workers' comp indemnity claims happen from December through March and are the result of outdoor slips, trips and falls on the same level or from steps. These injuries happen most often on parking lots, followed by sidewalk mishaps.
Take care to have outside areas cleared of snow and ice to prevent these claims at your office or medical practice.
Workplace Emergencies: Ensure that your alarm systems operate properly and that procedures are in place to alert employees to workplace emergencies. Do the drills, instruct employees about the location of alarm pull boxes and post emergency phone numbers. Being prepared is the best defense for keeping your people safe in an emergency of any kind.
