When your staff gets the jitters it's hard to keep your cool. Rumors spread through the office, morale tanks and everyone looks for clues that things are getting worse
Here's how you can help your staff to get rid of the anxiety that we are all feeling right now:
- Keep communication levels very high. It's the "not knowing" that drives people crazy, so talk to your staff often and keep repeating your calming message of job security.
- Remember that when you sneeze, everyone gets a cold. Your attitude, body language, off-the-cuff comments and other minor details will be analyzed to death by your staff. They are looking for clues in everything you do and say.
- Take time to take care of them. Have an extra pizza luncheon, do a walk through an additional time during the day, ask about their families; let them know that you are thinking of them and that you care about their future.
In addition to taking care of your staff, you need to take care of yourself. Make sure that your health is good, your attitude is positive and that you're not going it alone. Call us and we'll share the journey with you.
